Elmsford, NY (June 27, 2019) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Laborers, Local Union #235, will conduct a recruitment from August 26, 2019 through August 28, 2020 for three Skilled Construction Craft Laborer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Please note that the three openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions, the Capital District and Hudson Valley regions.

Applications can be obtained at Local Union #235, 41 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period.

The Committee requires that applicants:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites and related instruction classes.
• Must pass a drug test, at the expense of the sponsor, after selection and prior to indenture.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner.
