NEWS ADVISORYNew York State Holiday Trees Begin Their Journey To The Capital November 12 and November 13 |

New York State’s holiday trees will be cut down and transported to the Empire State Plaza. One of the donated trees will be placed on the Empire State Plaza and the other in East Capitol Park. Lights will be turned on at the New York State Tree Lighting and Fireworks celebration presented by SEFCU on Sunday, December 6, from 1 to 8 p.m. Caroling starts at 4:45, followed by the tree lighting and fireworks at 5:15 p.m. WHEN: Thursday, November 12, 8 a.m., 2532 Barton Avenue, Schenectady The beautiful blue spruce that will light up the Empire State Plaza is being donated by the Parks family of Schenectady. Friday, November 13, 8 a.m., 46 Brickyard Road, Mechanicville The 45-foot-tall blue spruce is being donated by the Ricciardone family of Mechanicville. It will shine brightly in East Capitol Park.
