DEC ANNOUNCES DEDICATION OF HASHAMOMUCK MARINE WATERWAY ACCESS SITE

DEC will be holding a plaque and tree unveiling ceremony to honor Carl D. and Helen Reiter for their family’s charitable contribution to New York State to open DEC’s first and only unrestricted Waterway Access Site on the Peconic Bay. The site was officially opened to the public in late July 2021.

Photo Opportunities: Plaque and tree unveiling, additional amenities, and a boat launch will be available. Amenities include a public boat ramp, an accessible pathway, planted trees and a 37-vehicle parking lot for 31 trailers and six cars.

WHO: DEC Regional Director Cathy Haas, DEC Division of Marine Resources Assistant Director Dawn McReynolds, members of the Reiter family, local and State elected officials, and additional partners.
