DEC TO HOLD OCT. 19 PUBLIC HEARING ON VIRTUAL MEETING ACCESS FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE WORKING GROUP

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 19, to receive public comments on proposed draft resolution and procedures that pertain to the use of videoconferencing by the Climate Justice Working Group. The proposed changes would allow for Climate Justice Working Group members to attend public meetings via videoconference from a private location if extraordinary circumstances exist, provided that the physical quorum requirement is met. The proposed draft resolution and procedures for videoconferencing are attached and will be posted at: https://www.dec.ny.gov/public/333.html

The public comment period on the draft disadvantaged communities criteria is now closed. No comments on the criteria will be taken at this hearing. Members of the public who want to provide oral comments may attend either in person or join a virtual hearing. Members of the public are encouraged to pre-register here
