1980 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team, the “Dream Team” to Participate in February 18 Press Conference

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (JANUARY 29, 2020) --- On February 18, 2020, members of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team return to the Lake Placid Olympic Center and Olympic Oval to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the XIII Olympic Winter Games

Scott Hamilton, Linda Fratianne, Charles Tickner, Tai Babilonia, David Santee, Sandy Lenz Jackson, Caitlin Carruthers Conrad, Sheryl Franks and Michael Botticelli, Lisa-Marie Allen and Stacey Smith will all return to the two-time Olympic village to be a part of Hamilton’s Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ event, a “Frozen 5K” skate-a-thon and signature fundraiser of the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, and 40th Anniversary Figure Skating Gala and Dinner Show, featuring a multi-media presentation and discussion with the members of the U.S. 1980 Olympic Figure Skating Team, sharing their stories and experiences of the Lake Placid Winter Games.  

WHO: Eleven members of the United States 1980 Olympic figure skating team, the “Dream Team.” The members participating include Hamilton, Linda Fratianne, Charles Tickner, Tai Babilonia, David Santee, Sandy Lenz Jackson, Caitlin Carruthers Conrad, Sheryl Franks and Michael Botticelli, Lisa-Marie Allen and Stacey Smith and John Summers. Paul Wylie, 1992 men’s singles figure skating Olympic silver medalist, will moderate the press conference.

WHAT: Press conference involving members of the famed 1980 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team, returning to Lake Placid to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the XIII Olympic Winter Games, Ski8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ event and figure skating Gala and dinner show.
