DEC to Promote Trail Safety at Kaaterskill Falls

Who:  New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Executive Deputy Commissioner, Kenneth Lynch will be joined by state and local elected officials and community partners.

What:  DEC to promote fall hiking safety and showcase recent improvements at Kaaterskil

When:  Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 10:30 a.m.

Where:  Laurel House Road parking lot, town of Hunter, Greene County
A 1/3 mile hike will follow a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Kaaterskill Falls overlook platform.

Directions:  

  • Take NYS Thruway South to exit 21
  • Turn left onto Main St.
  • Merge onto NY-23 W, go 4.3 miles
  • Turn left onto Ross Ruland Rd, go 1.3 miles
  • Turn left onto NY-32 S, go 4.9 miles
  • Turn right onto NY-23A W, go 7.1 miles
  • Turn right onto N Lake Rd, go 1.8 miles
  • Turn right onto Laurel House Rd
