Plumbers & Steamfitters Recruit Apprentices |

Oswego, NY (April 09, 2016) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local Union #73, will conduct a recruitment from May 09, 2016 through May 20, 2016 for 20 plumber and steamfitter apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Central and North Country regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Cayuga, Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and St. Lawrence. Applications can be obtained at Local Union #73, 705 East Seneca Street, Oswego, NY, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the recruitment period. Applications must be obtained in person. This is a limited-application recruitment. Only 100 applications will be distributed, on a first-come, first-served basis. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
