The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will stock the City of Albany’s Six Mile Waterworks with 2,100 catchable size rainbow trout as part of the agency’s statewide spring stocking efforts. Six Mile Waterworks is home to a variety of freshwater fish species including largemouth bass, sunfish, yellow perch, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, and most recently, rainbow trout. WHERE: Six Mile Waterworks, located off the Fuller Road roundabout, Albany GPS: 135 Fuller Rd, Albany, NY 12205 WHEN: Press Event: 10 a.m., Thursday, April 17 *Family activities will run through the morning: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. VISUALS: Stocking the lake with 2,100 rainbow trout from DEC’s VanHornesville Fish Hatchery, involving a truck and bucket brigade led by DEC’s Fisheries Bureau and local volunteers. Members of the public are invited to attend. |
