SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Time is running out for someone who bought a New York Lottery Powerball ticket last December in Rockland County that is worth $1,000,000.

 
The winning second-prize ticket for the December 11, 2013 Powerball drawing was purchased at the Quick Mart at 38 North Middletown Road in Nanuet, Rockland County.  Prizes can be claimed up to a year after the drawing, which means the lucky winner has only until December 11, 2014 to collect the $1,000,000 Lottery prize.

“Time is running out for the winner of this $1,000,000 prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward to claim it before December 11,” said Gardner Gurney, Acting Director of the Division of the Lottery. “We are urging players to check and double-check their tickets one last time for the chance to claim one million dollars.”

“We encourage our players to always check their tickets as we have hundreds of prizes every drawing including $10,000 prizes and $100 prizes,” Gurney said.

The winning ticket matched five of the six numbers from the December 11, 2013 Powerball drawing: 01 – 10 – 13 – 18 – 19, missing only the Powerball number of 27.

Lottery officials recommend that the ticket holder sign the back of the ticket and contact them immediately at 518-388-3370. The winner may claim the ticket at any one of the Lottery’s Customer Service Centers statewide, including the Fishkill office at Hudson Valley Towne Center, 18 Westage Business Center, Fishkill, NY 12524, the Manhattan office at 15 Beaver Street, New York, NY 10004 and the Long Island office at 45 South Service Road, Plainview, NY 11803. As is always the case, in the event the prize is not claimed by the deadline, the prize money will be returned to the prize pool for future winners. It is used to subsidize prizes for jackpots, promotions and/or special one-time games.
