70 Acts Compete Today at 29th Annual MTA Music Under New York Auditions

MTA Arts & Design’s 29th annual auditions for its Music Under New York (MTA MUSIC) program will be held today, May 18, 2016. Seventy performers and ensembles will play in front of a panel of judges to select new talent to add to the MTA MUSIC roster. MTA MUSIC hosts performances in more than 30 locations within the transit system, including major hubs such as Grand Central, Penn Station, Times Square-42 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle.

WHO:        Officials from MTA Arts & Design, which administers Music Under New York to enhance the station environment and commuting experience; 70 MTA MUSIC finalists; a panel of judges representing the music industry, MTA operations and cultural institutions.

WHEN:      Today, May 18, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Members of the media are required to check in to the media table at Vanderbilt Hall.

WHERE:     Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, located north of the clock in the main concourse. (4567s to 42 St-Grand Central, Metro-North to Grand Central Terminal. A street entrance for Vanderbilt Hall is located at 42nd Street and Park Avenue at Pershing Square)
