More Spring Skiing & Snowboarding Fun at Belleayre, Gore & Whiteface

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Winter is showing no sign of letting up, so get out and enjoy all of the late-season skiing and riding at Belleayre Ski Resort, in Highmount, N.Y., Gore Mountain, in North Creek, N.Y., and Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y.

All three ski resorts were right in the center of the three recent Nor’easters, so that means that there’s plenty of snow to be found no matter your skiing ability.

This weekend is Scout Weekend at Belleayre where all Scouts and their immediate family members receive a discounted ticket, group lesson and rental for the day.  Just show your ID card to receive the savings. While at Belleayre Saturday, be sure to take part in the Cardboard Classic and the Penguin Paddle.

The Cardboard Classic is your chance to sled down the slopes of Belleayre on a sled made only of cardboard and duct tape. The entry is free and prizes will be awarded for the fastest sled, the best crash, the most creative sled, the most ridiculous sled and the best overall sled.

The Penguin Paddle is fun for children ages four and older, using garbage bags to slide on your belly "penguin style" down the slopes of Belleayre.

After a full day of skiing Gore on Saturday, take in the live music at the Tanner Pub, featuring Jay Yager, from 3-6 p.m. Then on Sunday, it’s Maple Day at Gore with more live music, discounted lift tickets and family fun.

The Slides opened last weekend and 94-percent of the Olympic mountain is open for skiing and snowboarding.

This Saturday, be a part of Whiteface’s Apple Butter Open Moguls Contest. Sponsored by Forrence Orchards, of Peru, N.Y., winners in this free competition take home a case of Macintosh apples. Just sign up at the mountain’s guest services desk, helmets are required.

Then on Sunday, it’s the Grommet Jam Competition for skiers and riders 12 and under. The Grommet Jam gets underway at noon with a coached practice until 1p.m.  The entry fee is just $10 at the guest services desk and helmets are required.

While at either of the three ski resorts, put just 25-percent down on the purchase of your 2018-‘19 season pass and enjoy unlimited skiing and riding for the rest of this season. This new payment plan has no additional fees and just three easy payments.
