(November 7, 2014) --- The 2014-’15 skiing and riding season at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y., is just around the corner, but before the first skier or rider cuts turns on the Olympic mountain, the staff must first blow snow.

The staff at Whiteface will soon turn the snowguns on and begin covering Excelsior, Easy Street, Broadway, Lower Valley Lower Gap, Danny’s Bridge and Brookside. ORDA invites media to get an up-close look at the snowmaking process.

WHAT: First days of snowmaking at Whiteface

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. sharp for a trip up the mountain for photos / video of snowmaking

WHERE: Media are asked to meet outside the Whiteface Marketing office/ guest services desk on the main level of the base lodge. From there, uphill transportation will be arranged to snowmaking sites. This will be followed by a tour of the mountain’s pump house.
