Roofers Recruit Apprentices

Buffalo, NY (June 24, 2021) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Roofers, Local Union #210, will conduct a recruitment from July 12, 2021 through July 11, 2022 for 15 Roofer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Applications can be obtained from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period, at the following locations listed below:

  • Jamestown - Jamestown Roofing, Inc., 119 Clifton Ave., Jamestown, NY
  • Dunkirk - A.W. Farrell & Son, Inc., 3761 East Lake Rd., Dunkirk, NY
  • Pennsylvania - Roofers Local Union #210, 4901 East Lake Rd., Erie, PA
  • Online - Applications will also be available online at www.rooferslocal210.com   

Completed applications can be returned in person from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday to Roofers Local #210, 4901 East Lake Road, Erie, PA 16511 or mailed to the same address. They can also be emailed to Scott Johnson at bzmgr210@gmail.com. All applications must be received no later than July 11, 2022.

  The Committee requires that applicants:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).
  • Must be able to work at heights, lift 40 pounds continuously and work in extreme heat and cold temperatures.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from various work sites and related instruction classes.
  • Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
