MEDIA ADVISORY: MTA to Complete Replacement of the Cherry Valley Avenue Bridge in Garden City

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will complete the replacement of the Long Island Rail Road’s (LIRR) Cherry Valley Avenue Bridge in Garden City – the most struck overpass in the railroad’s network. The overpass is being raised by more than four feet and transformed into a more modern bridge.

MTA Construction & Development Senior Vice President for Railroads Anthony Tufano will be available to discuss the technical process involved in raising and replacing the often damaged bridge.

Members of the media will also be able to record b-roll on scene of the final replacement process.
