New York State Inspector General and State Police to Host Joint Tree-Planting Event at Troop C Barracks

ITHACA, NY — As part of New York State’s initiative to plant 25 million trees by 2033, the Inspector General and State Police will host a joint tree-planting event at the Troop C barracks. Spearheaded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the initiative underscores New York’s commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.

What:
Tree-planting event in support of New York State’s 25 Million Trees Initiative. The event will include a planting of saplings on the Troop C grounds. Additional partners include the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), and Cornell University.
