State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine today announced the following events that will be coming soon to the New York State Fairgrounds:

The annual Syracuse Motorama show will serve as the coming-out party for a classic car that spent 30 years in storage and another two and a half years being restored from the ground up to its original beauty. A 1967 Plymouth GTX owned by Andy Gavula of Binghamton will be on display for the first time at the Motorama show.  The car was painstakingly restored by Legendary Motorcar of Halton Hills, Ontario, acclaimed as one of the best restoration houses in the world. The car’s unveiling will be taped for its television series, “Legendary Motorcar,” which airs on the Velocity cable TV channel.

Show co-organizer Joanne Suchon calls the Syracuse Motorama “the largest, most beautiful collection of classic cars in the Northeast.”

The Syracuse Motorama show runs Friday – Sunday, March 22 – 24.  Show times are 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday at the Center of Progress Building. Tickets cost $7 at the door for adults and $3 for children.  Presale tickets for $6 are available at Good News Café, 3508 W. Genesee St., Syracuse; Mediterranean Specialty Food, 2100 Park St., Syracuse; and Quaker Steak and Lube, 3535 Walters Rd., Syracuse.

Also taking place at the Fairgrounds this coming weekend is the Summer Fun and Camp Fair, hosted by Family Times magazine.  The event gives parents a chance to check out all kinds of summer activities for their children, from summer camps to day trips to fairs and festivals. There will also be activities for youngsters, including face painting and a bounce house. The event runs on Sunday, March 24 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Horticulture Building. Admission is free.

In addition, several plays take the stage at the Empire Theater at the Fairgrounds this weekend as The District Festival heads into its final weekend.

Tickets are $20 per show or $50 for all three.

• “Grey Gardens,” from Rarely Done Productions, runs Thursday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
• “The Full Monty,” from The Redhouse, takes the stage Friday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
• “I Remember Mama,” from Appleseed Productions, will be performed Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 8 p.m.

In addition to the annual New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious horse and livestock shows.
