Watertown, NY (April 3, 2019) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union #2 (Ogdensburg), will conduct a recruitment from May 28, 2019 through May 22, 2020 for five bricklayer, mason, and plasterer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Applications can be obtained at: The Work Place (One Stop Career Center), 1000 Coffeen Street, Watertown, NY, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications can also be obtained at the St. Lawrence Career Center, 80 State Highway 310, Suite 8, Canton, NY, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications are also available and can be submitted online at www.bac2nyvt.org.

Completed applications should be returned to either of the two One Stop Career Center locations listed above. All applications must be received no later than May 31, 2020.

The Committee requires that applicants:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).
• Must be physically able to lift 50-100 lbs.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites and related instruction classes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles.
• Must reside (for at least six months prior to application) within the geographic jurisdiction of Local Union #2, which includes all of St. Lawrence, Jefferson, and Lewis counties, except for the Lewis County townships of Constableville, Port Leyden, Lyons Falls, Turin, and Redfield.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner.
