DEC ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL PUBLIC COMMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR ESSEX CHAIN LAKES COMPLEX

Public Hearing Scheduled for July 22 in Albany

A third public hearing regarding the Essex Chain Lakes Management Complex Draft Management Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (draft Plan/DEIS) will be held on July 22 in Albany, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Joe Martens announced today.

DEC will hold the additional public hearing on Wednesday, July 22, at 1:00 p.m. in room 129A of headquarters, 625 Broadway in Albany.  The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. Please provide any requests for specific accommodation to 518-473-9518 at least one week in advance.

The draft Plan/DEIS is available on the DEC website for viewing and downloading. Copies of the draft Plan/DEIS are also on CD at the following locations: DEC's headquarters in Albany, NY (5th floor); DEC Region 5 Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY; DEC Region 5 Office in Warrensburg, NY; and town hall offices in Indian Lake, Minerva, and Newcomb.
