New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment Meets

Siting Board to Consider Cassadaga Wind Rehearing Petition

 

ALBANY — The New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment (Siting
Board) will meet on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Members of the Siting Board will meet in the Public Service Commission’s Board Room, 19th floor, 3 Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York, and the Buffalo office located at Ellicott Square Building, 295 Main Street, 10th floor, Room 1050, Buffalo, New York.  In addition, the meeting will be webcast live on the Internet.
 
The Agenda for the May 15, 2018 meeting includes the following item:
 
Case 14-F-0490      Application of Cassadaga Wind LLC for a Certificate of Environmental
                               Compatibility and Public Need Pursuant to Article 10 to Construct a Wind Energy                                                   Project.
 
The Siting Board will consider whether to grant a rehearing petition filed by Concerned Citizens of the Cassadaga Wind Project. Concerned Citizens is challenging the Siting Board’s conclusions regarding the wildlife mitigation and noise modeling, monitoring and compliance conditions in the Board’s January 17, 2018 order. 

The 126 MW Cassadaga wind farm as approved, on January 17, 2018, will consist of up to 48 high-capacity, 500-foot tall wind turbines, together with associated transmission lines, both underground and above ground collection lines, access roads, meteorological towers, operation and maintenance building, collection and point of interconnect substations, and related facilities, located in the towns of Cherry Creek, Charlotte, Stockton, and Arkwright, and would interconnect to the state's electrical grid along the Dunkirk-Moon 115 kV transmission line.

All members of the public are invited to attend in person. Individuals wishing to attend the meeting in Albany, may do so in the Board Room on the 19th floor of the Public Service Commission’s offices at Three Empire State Plaza, Albany.  Those wishing to attend at the Buffalo location, must call 716-847-3941 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
 
Individuals in New York City wishing to attend the meeting may do so in the Board Room on the 4th floor of the Public Service Commission’s offices at 90 Church Street, New York City, please note the webcasting will be for viewing and listening purposes only.  Pursuant to procedures established by the building management, anyone planning to attend in the New York City Board Room must notify Mr. Jan Goorsky at 212-417-2378, 48 hours in advance of the meeting, and must be prepared to show valid photo identification upon arrival at 90 Church Street.

experience problems viewing the live webcast, you may view it at a later time by accessing an
archived copy of the webcast.  Archives are available on the Department of Public Service’s Web site
within two business days after the meeting.
