Metro-North Offers Special Fall Foliage Service on Saturday, October 28

Enjoy a Day of Leaf Peeping in the Hudson Valley and Explore Getaway Destinations


The Hudson Valley comes alive with dazzling color in the fall, and all you have to do to experience this magnificent display is hop on Metro-North.  Metro-North Railroad today announced that on Saturday, October 28, it will add five additional Hudson Line trains for leaf peepers, hikers and day-trippers to experience autumn in the Valley.  Make a day of it, and explore Metro-North getaways to regional cultural, scenic and historic destinations.

Three additional Hudson Line trains will travel from Grand Central Terminal to Beacon or Poughkeepsie in the morning, departing at: 8:32 a.m., 9:32 a.m. and 10:32 a.m. Two additional Hudson Line trains will travel from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central in the afternoon, departing at 4:38 p.m. and 5:38 p.m.  The extra trains also stop at Harlem/125th Street station, Tarrytown, Ossining and Croton-Harmon, as well as all stops in the upper Hudson River valley, including the popular hiking stops at Breakneck Ridge and Manitou.

West Point Tour
The experience:
Informative and fun, there is no better way to experience the sweep of America's history than with a tour of West Point. The one hour- 15 minute tour is the perfect introduction to this historic landmark. Board a comfortable bus for a guided overview from the beginning of West Point in 1778 during the Revolutionary War to the modern times of the United States Military Academy. The tour makes stops at the Cadet Chapel, Trophy Point, Battle Monument and the Plain. You are off the bus walking approximately 45 minutes.
 
As part of the security at West Point, everyone 17 years and over is required to bring a government-issued photo ID.

Getting there:
Take the Hudson Line to Peekskill Station. Your tour departs from the Visitors Center. Customers may reserve a Zipcar at the Peekskill station and drive for 20 minutes to West Point.

Storm King Art Center
The experience:
Storm King Art Center, one of the world's leading sculpture parks, encompasses over 500 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, and fields that provide a dramatic backdrop for a collection of more than 100 large-scale sculptures. Getting there:
Take the Hudson Line to the Beacon station.  At the Beacon station, customer can take a taxi (call ahead), or purchase tickets for Storm King's shuttle service  (available weekends in September and October) from the Beacon Train station.  Tickets are valid for transportation one way, reserve both arrival and return trips in advance as two separate tickets. Boscobel House & Gardens
The experience:
Boscobel has been an iconic tourist attraction in the Hudson Valley since 1961, offering visitors a day rich in culture, history and the environment.
