Green Lakes State Park

Public Comment Period for the Draft Addition Management Plan for Green Lakes East

(Manlius, NY) The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) will be holding a 15-day Public Comment period regarding the Draft Addition Management Plan for Green Lakes East. Green Lakes East is a 260-acre addition to Green Lakes State Park at the Park’s easternmost boundary. This addition was acquired by OPRHP in March 2018.

The Addition Management Plan is being prepared as an addendum to the 2011 Green Lakes Master Plan. The document is to provide direction for the operation, recreational development, and natural resource protection of the land for the next 10-15 years.

A Public Information Meeting concerning the preparation of the Addition Management Plan was held at the Fayetteville Village Hall in February 2019. More than 100 people attended the event. Comments received at this meeting and throughout the month-long public comment period following the event were considered by OPRHP during the preparation of the document. OPRHP encourages the public to continue their participation in planning efforts for the park and welcomes all comments on the Draft Addition Management Plan.

The Draft Addition Management Plan is available on the OPRHP website at https://parks.ny.gov/inside-our-agency/master-plans.aspx

All persons interested in Green Lakes State Park are encouraged to submit comments, via e-mail or written and delivered via mail, by Thursday, October 3rd, 2019 to:
