— MEDIA ADVISORY —

OGS AND NYPA HOST INAUGURAL NYS ELECTRIC VEHICLE FLEET EVENT AT THE EMPIRE STATE PLAZA IN ALBANY

WHAT: State agency fleet managers, sustainability coordinators, and policymakers will get a closer look at available electric vehicle (EV) models and charging equipment, including those currently in use by State agencies and authorities, at the inaugural NYS Electric Vehicle Fleet Event hosted by the NYS Office of General Services (OGS) and New York Power Authority (NYPA). A broad range of experts will be on hand to answer questions about EV charging, and a panel discussion — Converting to an Electric Vehicle Fleet — will provide fleet managers with direction on the steps that state agencies and municipalities have taken to electrify their fleets.

The event supports the State’s work toward meeting targets established through Governor Hochul’s Executive Order 22: Leading by Example: Directing State Agencies to Adopt a Sustainability and Decarbonization Program, to convert the light-duty and medium- and heavy-duty state fleet vehicles to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) by 2035 and 2040, respectively.

WHEN: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, with panel discussion taking place between 11 a.m. and noon.

WHERE: Outside on the Empire State Plaza in Albany, with panel discussion taking place inside Cornerstone at the Plaza.

Representatives of the media planning to attend this free event are asked to RSVP to OGSPressOffice@ogs.ny.gov.
