The State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Urban Forestry Program will join DEC’s Regional Director, Carrie Gallagher, local and state partners, and elected officials at a tree planting event signifying the kickoff to replant trees removed as part of the Asian Long-horned Beetle (ALB) eradication effort. Funding has been directed by the USDA Forest Service to the DEC to coordinate this project within the Long Island ALB quarantine zone.
