The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) today announced the opening of the Aurora Village Residential Treatment Facility, operated by Horizon Health Services. The 25-bed facility will provide addiction treatment services for women ages 18 and over. This is a first of its kind program providing stabilization, rehabilitation and reintegration services for women in Western New York. The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services provided $4.8 million in capital funding for the facility, and is contributing $1 million in annual operational funding. 

“This first of its kind facility will add 25 beds as part of a residential treatment program serving women in Western New York,” said Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, who attended today’s event. “The Aurora Village Residential Treatment Facility will help women 18 and over recover from drug abuse, and help to reintegrate them into society with counseling, programs, and recreational activities. This facility will ensure that individuals have a treatment plan that helps to address their recovery needs, and continues our aggressive efforts to combat the opioid epidemic statewide.”

“With this new facility, women in Western New York will have another option for treatment, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives from addiction,” New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Commissioner Arlene González-Sánchez said. “The comprehensive services provided here will help them establish a foundation for long-term recovery, and a substance-free life.”

The Aurora Village facility will offer residential treatment services for women, including counseling, skill-building, and recreational activities. Aurora Village staff will work with each patient to establish an individual treatment plan, and address their recovery needs. The addition of these beds furthers New York State’s efforts to provide a full continuum of residential care for people suffering from addiction, by incorporating the three essential elements of treatment: stabilization, rehabilitation, and reintegration.

Aurora Village is located at 6298 Inducon Dr. East, Sanborn NY, 14132. In addition to this facility, the campus also offers other residential programs, including:

• Horizon Village: A 50-bed residential facility for men and women
• Delta Village: A 25-bed residential facility for young adults
• Freedom Village: A 25 bed facility for male veterans

The campus also has a Wellness Center that Includes a medical practice, integrated behavioral health clinic, and fully-equipped gym.
