DEC TO ANNOUNCE GRANTS FOR LAND TRUSTS TO BOOST TOURISM, PROTECT FARMLAND AND INCREASE RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE

New York State’s weeklong celebration of Earth Week continues today, April 24 with an announcement in conjunction with the New York Land Trust Symposium at the Albany Capital Center. DEC Executive Deputy Commissioner Ken Lynch, joined by Venetia Lannon, Deputy Secretary for the Environment will highlight Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Conservation Partnership Program, heralding grants for 51 nonprofit land trusts across the State. Representatives of the DEC and the Land Trust Alliance will unveil the grantees at the Albany Capital Center celebration of New York's commitment and accomplishments to protecting our environment, conserving open space and increasing access to the state's vast and magnificent natural resources.
