Substitute Bus Service on Metro-North Railroad’s Port Jervis Line to Continue Monday Due to Ongoing Thruway Authority Bridge Maintenance

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that buses that have been substituting for train service on the Port Jervis Line this weekend, August 7 and 8, will continue to operate in place of trains on Monday, August 9.

Buses are substituting for trains after the New York State Thruway Authority advised Metro-North late Thursday evening that, out of an abundance of caution, the railroad should not operate trains on tracks that run below the Arden Valley Road Bridge near Harriman until repairs can be made to the bridge.

Service Alternatives

Port Jervis Line tickets will be honored on the Hudson Line, where service is available via the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to Beacon, N.Y., or via the Mario Cuomo Bridge to Tarrytown or Irvington.

Buses will substitute for Port Jervis Line trains between Port Jervis and Ramsey/Rt. 17 at all stations between Port Jervis and Sloatsburg except Otisville and Salisbury Mills.

To Hoboken/Penn Station
Buses will substitute for trains starting with the 3:46 a.m. departure from Port Jervis. Buses will depart 10-20 minutes earlier then the scheduled train time and travel to Ramsey/Rt. 17, where customers can transfer to regularly scheduled trains.

To Port Jervis
Trains will operate on normal schedules but will terminate at Ramsey/Rt. 17, where customers can connect with buses that will depart approximately five minutes after the connecting train arrives.

For further updates, customers should check the MYmta app or call 511.
