OGS TO HOLD SEALED BID AUCTION FOR VACANT PARCEL IN HASTINGS, OSWEGO COUNTY

Bids Due Monday, December 2

 

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner RoAnn M. Destito today announced the scheduling of a sealed-bid auction for state-owned property located on US Route 11 in Oswego County in the town of Hastings.

Description of Parcel:

This triangular-shaped property is approximately 1.4 acres of heavily wooded, vacant land in a rural setting with 643 feet of road frontage along US Route 11. It is located in the Central Square School District and within a zoning district designated Commercial-Residential.

The parcel is marked with a “Public Auction” sign and is available for self-inspection.

Minimum bid:

$11,500 (An initial $1,150 deposit is required to bid).

Bid Opening:
 
A public bid opening will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3 at the New York State Office of General Services, Empire State Plaza, Concourse Level – Room 125 in Albany.

Terms for the property:
 
The property is being sold “as-is.” Prospective bidders are encouraged to obtain professional advice, prior to the public sale to ensure compliance with building codes and any planned use of the property. They are also encouraged to contact a financial institution prior to the auction in order to obtain pre-contract credit clearance and borrowing guidelines.

Interested bidders will be required to present an initial deposit in the form of a certified check or bank draft. Checks should be made payable to either the Commissioner of General Services. An additional deposit to bring the total deposit to 10 percent of the bid price will be due within 10 business days after acceptance of the bid.

A 5 percent broker’s commission will be paid by the State of New York to a qualified real estate broker who represents the successful bidder at the time of the closing. Bidder and broker affidavits must be submitted to OGS Legal Services on or before the December 2 bid deadline.
