On September 25, 2014, at 1:30p.m., the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will be joined by state and local leaders and community members to unveil a brand new irrigation system at the James Baird State Park Golf Course. The $3.2 million project is one of many being completed in the State Parks system with funding from the New York Works program.

The new irrigation system is complete with a new pond and pump house. With more than 600 sprinkler heads installed, the Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course is now greener, healthier, and offers prime playing conditions throughout the entire golf season.

James Baird serves as the home course for the Arlington High School girl's golf team. The team and their coach will be on hand for a special presentation.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees 180 state parks and 35 historic sites, and 29 golf courses which are visited by 60 million people annually.
