Jump into the New Year

Fireworks follow Jumpers into the New Year Sky

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Watch ski jumpers soar into the evening sky and fly as far as football fields during the Wednesday, Dec. 28, New Year’s Ski Jump in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Catch all of the excitement on the Olympic Jumping Complex’s 90, 48 and 20-meter hills. Action begins at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks display at 7 p.m.

Ticket are available online by visiting http://www.whiteface.com/events/new-years-ski-jump. Online prices before Dec. 28 are $12 for adults and $6 for juniors and seniors. Tickets at the gate are $16 for adults and $10 for juniors and seniors. Whiteface Mountain and Mt. Van Hoevenberg season pass holders and those who purchase the Olympic Sites Passport receive free admission.

Established in 1982, the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created by the State of New York to manage the facilities used during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid. ORDA operates Whiteface, Belleayre and Gore Mountain ski areas; the Olympic Sports Complex at Mt. Van Hoevenberg; the Olympic speed skating oval, Olympic jumping complex and Olympic arena. As host to international and national championships, the Authority has brought millions of athletes, spectator and participants to the region, resulting in significant economic development.
