Operating Engineers Recruit Apprentices |

New Hampton, NY (August 5, 2017) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Operating Engineers, Local Union #825, will conduct a recruitment from September 5, 2017 through September 18, 2017 for 10 operating engineer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 10 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions, the Hudson Valley and Southern Tier regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Delaware, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, and Ulster. Applications must be completed in-person. Applications can be obtained from Local Union #825, 96 Bates/Gates Road, New Hampton, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017. This is a limited-application recruitment. Only 60 applications will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The Committee requires that applicants:

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
