Metro-North to Provide Weekend Substitute Bus Service Between New Canaan and Stamford From Friday Evening, January 27, Through Sunday, January 29.

Service Change Will Accommodate Track Work

Buses will replace Metro-North Railroad trains on the New Canaan Branch after 10 p.m. on Friday, January 27, through the last train of the night on Sunday, January 29. Westbound buses will operate 15-20 minutes earlier than scheduled trains. Customers should listen for announcements and check local or express bus service to their destination while boarding.

This weekend’s service change will help ensure the on-going reliability and safety of the New Canaan Branch. Metro-North crews will be installing a switch and rail in Stamford, and the location of the switch will take the Branch out of service.   
 
Substitute Bus Service Between New Canaan and Stamford
Westbound, Friday, January 27
An 11:10 p.m. bus will replace the 11:28 p.m. train from New Canaan to Stamford, making all station stops to Stamford. Bus service will connect with the regularly scheduled 11:56 p.m. train at Stamford.   
 
Eastbound, Friday, January 27
After 10:00 p.m., buses will replace all trains departing from Stamford to New Canaan. Buses will depart from the Stamford station at regularly scheduled train times.
 
Westbound, Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29
Substitute bus service will be provided for all trains departing from New Canaan to Stamford.
 
Buses will operate up to 20 minutes earlier than normal train times. At Stamford station, customers will connect with continuing train service to Grand Central Terminal.
 
Eastbound, Saturday, Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29
Customers will connect with substitute bus service at the Stamford station for continuing service to New Canaan. Buses will depart at regularly scheduled train times.
