Plumbers & Pipefitters Recruit Apprentices |

Binghamton, NY (February 10, 2017) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local Union #112, will conduct a recruitment from March 6, 2017 through February 5, 2018 for two steamfitter apprentices and four plumber & steamfitter apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Mohawk Valley and Southern Tier regions. This division of Local Union #112 has jurisdiction in the counties of Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga. Applications can be obtained from Local Union #112, 11 Griswold Street, Binghamton, NY, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the first working Monday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
