OGS TO AUCTION FORMER SUNY COLLEGE PRESIDENT’S RESIDENCE IN ONONDAGA COUNTY

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry Property to be Auctioned

Single-Family Home in Camillus Also Being Auctioned on Tuesday, June 15

 
New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner RoAnn Destito today announced public auctions for the former SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) president’s residence at 2 Bradford Heights Road in DeWitt and a single-family home at 6101 Newport Road in Camillus will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15. The auctions will take place in the New York State Fairgrounds Art and Home Center at 581 State Fair Boulevard in Syracuse, with registration beginning at 10 a.m.

Description of Former SUNY ESF President’s Residence:
 
This one-story home is situated on a 0.4-acre corner lot in a residential neighborhood. The house features five fireplaces, a detached two-car garage with a workshop, a paved driveway, and a mostly finished walk-out basement. The 2,600-square-foot main floor has a foyer, kitchen, open dining/family room, three bedrooms, and two full baths. The basement, which has 2,200 square feet of finished space, has a family room with a bar, two bedrooms, one full bath, a laundry room, and storage/mechanical rooms. The house is connected to municipal water and sewer, and natural gas.

  • Wednesday, May 19 – 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monday, May 24 – 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 3 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Visitors to the property will be required to adhere to COVID-19 screening and safety protocols, including mask-wearing and social distancing.

This one-story former residence for people with developmental disabilities with 1,700 square feet of living space has three bedrooms, two full baths, and a full basement. It is situated on a 1.01-acre lot. The house has a foyer and an open-style kitchen with space for living and dining areas. The property also features a deck at the back of the house, a two-car attached garage, and a shed. The structure has a private septic system and is connected to municipal water and natural gas.

  • Thursday, May 20 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 25 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 2 – 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Terms of Sale:

The properties are being sold “as-is.” Prospective bidders are encouraged to obtain professional advice prior to a public sale to ensure compliance with building codes and any planned use of the property. They are also encouraged to contact a financial institution before the auction to obtain pre-contract credit clearance and borrowing guidelines.

Bidders are required to submit an initial deposit in the form of a certified check or bank draft. Checks should be made payable to the Commissioner of General Services. An additional deposit to bring the total deposit to 10 percent of the bid price will be due within 10 business days after acceptance of the bid.

The State of New York will pay a 2.5 percent broker’s commission to a qualified real estate broker who represents the successful bidder at the time of the closing. Broker and bidder affidavits must be submitted to OGS Legal Services by noon on Wednesday, June 9.
