Insulation & Asbestos Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Long Island City, NY (March 2, 2017) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Heat & Frost Insulators, Local Union #12, will conduct a recruitment from April 3, 2017 through April 14, 2017 for 32 insulation and asbestos worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 32 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Long Island and New York City regions. On April 3, 2017, 250 numbered wristbands will be distributed at the Local #12 Union Hall, 35-53 24th St., Long Island City, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. From April 4 through April 14, any remaining wristbands will be distributed at the Local #12 Union Hall, 35-53 24th St., Long Island City, NY, on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Applications will be distributed between April 4 and April 14 to those who received a wristband. This is a limited-application recruitment. Applications will be available for 10 business days or until 250 applications have been issued, whichever comes first. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
