Statement from MTA Chairman and CEO Pat Foye: "Ray Kenny was a beloved and universally respected railroader who was laser focused on improving the lives of his customers and colleagues at all levels of the Long Island Railroad and New Jersey Transit. Ray began his storied career at the LIRR 50 years ago and held a number of key positions over many years, including Acting President. Ray was a member of the MTA family and he will be deeply missed. His legacy is felt by generations of LIRR customers and employees."
Statement from LIRR President Phil Eng:
"Ray was a legend. While I never had the opportunity to work with him at the LIRR, the results of his leadership where clear throughout the railroad when I came on board. The entire railroad is hurting right now." |
