New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced that Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo will headline the July 13 performance of the 2022 Summer at the Plaza’s Capital Concert Series Presented by Miller Lite and DeCrescente Distributing Company. Today, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced that Benatar is being inducted into the hall this year.

 

In April, OGS announced it would be returning to a full lineup of festivals and concerts for the 2022 Summer at the Plaza season, which will kick off on Independence Day with New York State’s Fourth of July Celebration Presented by Price Chopper/Market 32.

 

The Capital Concert Series Presented by Miller Lite and DeCrescente Distributing Company will feature free concerts starting at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday in July at the Empire State Plaza, beginning on July 6 with a performance by moe.

 

Pat Benatar’s staggering vocals and take-no-prisoners attitude, along with Neil Giraldo’s trailblazing artistry as a guitarist, producer and songwriter forged the undeniable chemistry and unique sound that created some of rock’s most memorable hits including “We Belong,” “Invincible,” “Love Is A Battlefield,” “Promises In The Dark,” “We Live For Love,” “Heartbreaker,” and “Hell Is For Children.”

 

Together they have created two multi-platinum, five platinum, and three gold albums, as well as 19 Top 40 hits. They have sold over 30 million records worldwide and have won an unprecedented four consecutive Grammy awards. Their rock and roll love affair has endured for more than three and a half decades.
