Tickets on Sale for ECAC Men’s Hockey and NCAA D3 Championships in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Four teams are left standing in the ECAC men’s ice hockey post season tournament. Quinnipiac, Harvard, St. Lawrence and Dartmouth have all moved on to the semifinals and play for the conference’s prestigious Whitelaw Cup and an automatic bid into the NCAA Championship Tournament, beginning this Friday, March 18, in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament begins at 4 p.m., in the Herb Brooks Arena, when top seeded Quinnipiac (27-3-7, 18-2-5) faces off against seventh seeded Dartmouth (18-15-1, 15-12-0).  The Bobcats return to Lake Placid for a third straight year, while the Big Green return to Lake Placid for the first time since 2001 and make their first trip to the championship tournament since 2011. Both schools are searching for their first-ever post season crowns.

Quinnipiac advanced to the semifinals, topping eighth seeded Cornell (16-10-7, 11-10-6) two games to one in their best of three series. Dartmouth moved on after sweeping second seeded Yale (19-8-4, 14-7-3).

Friday’s second game pits third seeded Harvard (18-9-4, 14-6-4) against number four St. Lawrence (19-13-4, 13-8-3). The Crimson look to defend their post season title and capture their 10th Whitelaw Cup, while the Saints are eying their seventh post season title, and their first since 2001.

Harvard swept sixth seeded RPI (18-15-7, 10-9-7) in their best of three quarterfinal matchup, while St. Lawrence needed a pair of overtimes against their north country rivals, fifth seeded Clarkson (20-15-3, 12-11-3), to advance to Lake Placid for a second straight time.

Tickets for the ECAC Men’s Hockey Championship Tournament are on sale now. Single day tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for junior and seniors. All Tournament tickets are also available, $55 for adults and $45 for juniors and seniors.
