UPDATED ADVISORY: MTA to Open Long Island Rail Road’s New Elmont Station

MTA leaders will join Lt. Governor Brian Benjamin and other elected officials and community leaders for the ribbon-cutting and ceremonial opening of the Elmont Station, the LIRR’s first newly built station in nearly 50 years, just in time for customers to attend the NY Islanders’ first game in their new home, UBS Arena, and for a Harry Styles concert the following weekend.  

UPDATE:  Newsday will be pool for print and broadcast.  MTA will distribute unedited reports from poolers following the event.

Elmont Station, the area in front of the steps to the platform

Directions to Elmont Station: Take the Cross Island Parkway to Exit 26D and follow directions to the Emerald Lot.
