Electricians Recruit Apprentices |

Binghamton, NY (October 21, 2013) - The Electricians Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of Binghamton, Local Union #325 IBEW, will conduct a recruitment from October 28, 2013 through September 22, 2014 for five electrician apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Applications can be obtained at the Local Union #325, 24 Emma Street, Binghamton, NY from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the fourth working Monday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications must be completed in-person at the premises and cannot leave the building. In order to take the aptitude test for this apprenticeship program, a non-refundable test fee of $22.00* must be received by the IBEW Local 325 JATC two weeks before the date of the test. A check or money order can be made payable to IBEW Local 325 JATC and mailed to: IBEW Local 325 JATC, 24 Emma Street, Binghamton, NY 13905, or delivered in-person to this address. *Do not send cash. Only checks or money orders will be accepted as payment unless payment is being made in-person. Applicants may request that this fee be waived. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need. The Committee requires that applicants:
Broome County – All townships – entire county Chenango County – Townships of Afton, Bainbridge, Coventry, German, Greene, Guilford, Lincklaen, McDonough, North Norwich, Norwich, Otselic, Oxford, Pharslia, Pitcher, Plymouth, Preston, Smithville, and Smyrna Delaware County – Townships of Davenport, Delhi, Deposit, Franklin, Hamden, Masonville, Meredith, Sidney, Tompkins, Walton, and that portion of Colchester and Hancock north of the east branch of the Delaware River Otsego County – Townships of Butternuts, Harwick, Laurens, Maryland, Milford, Morris, Oneonta, Otego, Unadilla, and Westford Tioga County – Townships of Berkshire, Newark Valley, Owego, Richford, and Tioga
For further information, applicants should contact the nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Local Union #325 at (607) 729-6171. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
