Finishing Trades Recruit Apprentices |

Cheektowaga, NY (March 6, 2016) - The Finishing Trades Institute of Western and Central New York (Buffalo) will conduct a recruitment from April 5, 2016 through March 7, 2017 for ten painter, decorator, and paperhanger apprentices; five drywall taper (finisher) apprentices; and five glazier apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for three recruitment regions – the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Western regions. Applications can be obtained on the Finishing Trades’ website, www.dc4.org, and mailed to: FTI of W & CNY, 585 Aero Drive, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. Applicants who apply by mail will be contacted to schedule an interview. Applications can also be obtained in person from the location noted below. This location also holds open recruitment sessions, where applications can be obtained and submitted, as detailed below. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
