DEC TO ANNOUNCE CLIMATE SMART COMMUNITY GRANT FUNDING

New York State’s weeklong celebration of Earth Week kicks off today, April 18 with a DEC Climate Smart regional and statewide announcement to help make communities more resilient to climate change.  The event begins at 10 a.m., outside Schenectady City Hall.

  • City of Schenectady Mayor, Gary McCarthy
  • Executive Director, Capital District Transportation Committee, Michael V. Franchini

Additional partners in attendance include:

  • Town of Niskayuna Supervisor, Joe Landry
  • Capital District Regional Planning Commission, Executive Director, Rocky Ferraro
  • New York Nature Conservancy, Policy Director, Jessica Ottney Mahar
  • And other regional environmental and energy organizations
