LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- The power and precision of IBSF World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton racing returns to Lake Placid, N.Y., Feb. 15-16. This race is the seventh stop of the eight-race series and is expected to feature as many as 190 athletes, from 23 nations competing on the one-mile long, 22-curve Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex track. Official training for the event begins Tuesday, Feb. 12, and racing gets underway Friday, Feb. 15. WHAT: IBSF World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton racing. ORDA operates Whiteface, Belleayre and Gore Mountain ski areas; the Olympic Sports Complex at Mt. Van Hoevenberg; the Olympic speed skating oval, Olympic jumping complex and Olympic arena. As host to international and national championships, the Authority has brought millions of athletes, spectator and participants to the region, resulting in significant economic development. |
