LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Crews continue to work installing three new scoreboards in Lake Placid’s Olympic Center. The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) and Daktronics have completed and installed scoreboards in both the center’s USA and 1932 rinks. On Monday, Feb. 7, crews brought down and removed the 1980 Rink-Herb Brooks Arena’s 39 year-old scoreboard that chronicled the United States’ 1980 Olympic hockey team’s improbable run to the gold medal in Lake Placid. Work on the new state-of-the art centerhung video scoreboard is expected to be completed next week.
