MEDIA ADVISORY: State and Local Officials To Host Roundtable on Not-for-Profit Partnerships with State Government

ALBANY – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Interagency Coordinator for Nonprofit Organizations Fran Barrett, Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Commissioner Samuel D. Roberts, and representatives from New York State Homes and Community Renewal and NYS Grants Reform team will host a roundtable with local not-for-profit organizations helping to fight poverty in Syracuse. This meeting is designed to bring together not-for-profit leadership, staff, board members and volunteers from around the region to learn about Governor Cuomo’s various initiatives. The roundtable will also offer a presentation on the New York State Grants Gateway Portal and how not-for-profit organizations can apply for state funding.

WHAT: Roundtable meeting with local not-for-profit organizations helping to fight poverty in Syracuse. This meeting is designed to bring together not-for-profit leadership, staff, board members and volunteers from around the region to learn about Governor Andrew Cuomo’s various initiatives. We will offer a presentation on the New York State Grants Gateway Portal and how not-for-profit organizations involved in the poverty initiative can apply for state funding. The city of Syracuse is a focus of Governor Cuomo’s anti-poverty efforts as part of the Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative, a $25 million initiative to help support community-driven, poverty reduction strategies that increase economic opportunity for all New Yorkers.
