Metro-North Reminds Customers of Final Weekend to Catch a Leaf Peeper Train on the Hudson Line

Five Additional Trains on Saturday Schedule, Four Additional Trains on Sunday Schedule to Provide Extra Capacity

Customers Can Still Take Advantage of Autumn Weekends Program Through Nov. 21

Metro-North Railroad today reminded customers that this weekend, Nov. 6-7, will be the last weekend the railroad will run extra train service to view fall foliage on the Hudson Line. Since Oct.2, Metro-North has added five trains to its Saturday schedule and four trains to its Sunday schedule to provide extra capacity.

“A large reason leisure travel has led the recovery is all the destinations throughout the Hudson Valley that make for great daytrips,” said Catherine Rinaldi, President of Metro-North Railroad. “If you want to take in the beautiful fall foliage, or experience the Hudson Valley’s premier culinary destinations, Metro-North's Hudson Line is the best way to get you there."

On Saturday, there will be three Beacon-bound trains out of Grand Central Terminal making all stops between Croton-Harmon and Beacon. In the afternoon, there are two additional trains departing Beacon bound for Grand Central. On Sunday, there are two additional northbound trains in the morning, and two additional southbound trains in the late afternoon between Beacon and Grand Central. These additional trains supplement the regular hourly weekend service.

In addition to taking in the fall foliage on the Hudson Line, Metro-North customers can take the Hudson Line to Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, which starts today, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 14. Many participating businesses are a short walk from a Metro-North station, or in some cases, at a Metro-North station. Customers can visit the MTA’s dedicated webpage to see participating restaurants.

Monthly customers can also take advantage of Metro-North's Autumn Weekends program through Sunday, Nov. 21. Under the program, any Metro-North monthly ticketholder can travel to any Metro-North station, no matter the zone on their ticket, and take up to four additional guests with them for just $1.00 per person each way.

Customers should check new.MTA.info, the MYmta.app, or Metro-North's TrainTime app prior to traveling. Metro-North customers with an Apple Watch can now access TrainTime right on their watch. On Oct. 22, Metro-North became the first commuter railroad to have a companion smartphone app available. The companion app allows customers to see the next train and the capacity of each train car once a trip is bookmarked through the mobile app.
