State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera will announce details about the Commercial Goods Transportation Industry Fair Play Act. The law creates a new standard for determining whether a driver is an employee or independent contractor in the trucking industry. It also provides new penalties for employers who fail to properly classify their employees.
