SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. (March 20, 2018) – Led by Saranac Lake’s own Chris Mazdzer, the United States’ first-ever men’s singles Olympic luge medalist, eight 2018 area Olympians will participate in tomorrow’s, Wednesday, March 21, Saranac Lake Parade of Olympians. In addition to the 2018 Winter Olympians several coaches, support staff and many past Olympians will also participate, honoring the region’s Olympic heritage. And several 2018 Winter Olympian coaches, support staff and many past Olympians. Local youth groups including downhill and cross-country ski groups, figure skating, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Saranac Lake Marching Band and Ensembles and both the Saranac Lake and Lake Placid Fire Departments are also participating WHERE: The parade begins at the Hotel Saranac, Main St., and finishes at the Harrietstown Town Hall, where the athletes will participate in a cauldron lighting ceremony, an induction ceremony into Saranac Lake’s Walk of Fame, a recognition celebration and meet and greet with the Olympic athletes WHEN: The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. The 2018 Olympic athletes and support staff will be available for interviews from 4:45-5:15 p.m. in the Hotel Saranac. Media may follow the parade to film B-roll and photography.
