Gore and Whiteface Re-Start their Snowguns

2017-’18 Season Passes on Sale Now

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Colder temperatures are coming back this weekend at both Gore and Whiteface Mountains. With day-time highs expected to only reach the upper teens and evening lows dropping into the single digits, management at both alpine ski resorts have decided to turn their snowguns back on.

Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y., began blowing snow today and will continue around the clock, weather and conditions permitting, through Saturday. Guns are lined up along Boreen, Excelsior and summit trails.

Gore Mountain, in North Creek, N.Y., has rolled out their high-efficiency, low-energy guns onto Uncas, Ruby Run, Headwaters, the Saddle and the top of Bear Mountain.

If weather and conditions allow, snowmaking will also take place on the Echo trail on Burnt Ridge Mountain.

While taking in the longer days and warmer temperatures at either Gore or Whiteface, don’t forget to purchase your 2017-’18 season pass and ski or ride the remainder of this season for free. Full season adult Ski 3 passes begin as low as $759.

Learn more about this year's pass offerings and pricing, and purchase your pass online today. Financing is available for all season passes when you purchase on or before August, 11, 2017.
