Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Recruit Apprentices |

Endicott, NY (November 25, 2013) - The Joint Apprenticeship Committee for The International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen, Local Union #3, will conduct a recruitment from December 2, 2013 through December 1, 2014 for 10 bricklayer, mason, and plasterer apprentices; two cement mason apprentices; and two tile setter apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Applications can be obtained at the BAC-JATC Ithaca Training Center, 1460 Union Center Highway, Endicott, NY from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Monday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications are also available at the following Southern Tier Department of Labor offices, Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. Completed applications must be returned to the BAC-JATC Ithaca Training Center.

For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Local Union #3 at (607) 786-8945. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
