NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Committee Selects Championship BracketTickets for the Tournament’s Frozen Four in Lake Placid are on Sale Now |

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ---The NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Committee announced today the field of 12 teams for the 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship. Seven conferences have been awarded an automatic qualification. The remaining five teams were selected at-large by the committee. The championship playoff format involves four first-round games and four quarterfinal games that are played on the campuses of the participating institutions. All games in the championship are single elimination. The four quarterfinal winners will advance to Lake Placid, N.Y, at the 1980 Herb Brooks Ice Arena for the semifinal and championship games, which will be conducted March 23-24. Plattsburgh State University of New York and the Olympic Regional Development Authority will host the championship. Conferences receiving automatic qualification are:
Adrian College (24-5-0), the University of New England (20-5-3), Marian University (Wisconsin) (20-7-1), Salve Regina University (20-5-2) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (20-5-3) enter the field as the five at-large selections. The semifinal and championship games will be web streamed live on NCAA.com. In 2017, Norwich University claimed its fourth title with a 4-1 win over Trinity College (Connecticut) at the Utica Memorial Auditorium in Utica, New York. March 23-24, the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey National Championship returns to Lake Placid for a record seventh time. The semifinal games, on March 23, begin at 3 and 6:30 p.m., while the championship contest, the following night, gets underway at 7 p.m. Ticket and event information for each of these events can be found by visiting http://www.whiteface.com/activities-events/events.
